If the idea of getting a shot of anesthetic has prevented you from seeking the dental care you need, you’re not alone. Many of our patients fear “the shot.” That’s why we’ve incorporated the ONSET buffering anesthetic system into our practice.
You may think that the sting associated with getting an injection is because of the needle, when in fact, it has to do with the numbing solution itself. The high acidity level of the anesthetic solution causes the burning sensation when it comes into contact with the more neutral acidity level of your body’s tissues. ONSET buffering anesthetic raises the pH of the numbing medication, which averages a pH level of 3.5, to your body’s average level of 7.4, eliminating the sting and creating a more comfortable injection.
ONSET buffering anesthetic:
- Eliminates the sting that can be caused by the acidity of local anesthetic
- Goes to work fast so your dentist can start your dental treatment immediately
- Gets you deeply numb, even when tooth inflammation or infection is present
ONSET is just one of the ways we hope to make you dental experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
